Aim: To provide quality vocational courses to inspire students for post 16 life
‘The Hub’ is a purpose built centre to give students the opportunity to access a broad and varied curriculum through vocational subjects.
We offer a thriving vocational experience with the emphasis to equip students with the skills and understanding of how to succeed in the real world.
The Hub is an active and engaging community with a commitment to the success of our students studying a vocational curriculum. We have a portfolio of short and full course and other educational training provision that is flexible in its delivery patterns, and are assessed in a number of different ways including portfolios, assignments and exams. The Hub opened in September 2017 and is currently offering the following subjects:
- Hair and Beauty
- Hospitality and Catering
- Arts Award (Wednesday only)
- Design Technology (Three-Dimensional Drawing)
- Child Development
In addition to this we also work with outside Alternative Provision providers, where we feel students will benefit from another learning environment. The providers that we currently work with include: Appleseed, Ace (Peterborough), Century Training Academy, East Coast, Holt Youth Project, Open Road, Respect 4 Us, St Edmunds Society, The Junction, City College Norwich and E-Learning.
As an additional offer we are able to facilitate work experience programmes throughout the year, these will be tailored to the student’s needs.
Our Hospitality and Catering students were asked to cater for the NOA Head Teachers meeting on the 12th March for approximately 30 people and what a FANTASTIC job they did. More information can be accessed here.
The Vocational Learning Hub can be accessed by mainstream schools. Our flyer can be accessed here.
